Our group was established in River Edge, NJ. AOH State officials swore in our members during a ceremony that took place in Jersey City on June 8, 2007. Our Chapter has grown to over 120 members from all around Bergen County. We are dedicated to uniting Irish Catholic men in Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity. We are an active organization involved in a variety of charitable and social events throughout the year.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians is a Catholic, Irish American Fraternal Organization. The organization can trace its roots back to a parent organization, of the same name, which has existed in Ireland for over 300 years. However, while the organizations share a common thread, the North American A.O.H. is a separate and much larger organization. The Order has also provided a continuing bridge with Ireland for those who are generations removed from the country. Our patron is Fr. Solanus Casey, a humble priest, who dedicated his life for the poor, lonely, and suffering of the world. The Catholic Church is considering Fr. Solanus, who was born in Wisconsin to Irish immigrant parents, for sainthood. His canonization would make him the first American male born saint. For more information about Fr. Solanus Casey and the cause for his beatification please visit: http://www.solanuscasey.org/
Polar Bear Plunge - Our members took a cool "dip" in the Atlantic this past January at Sea Bright, NJ to raise funds for two needy familes in northern, NJ.
